user.nick_name

user.nick_name is a string variable containing the nickname of the currently logged-in reader. This is empty if the reader is not logged in.

It can also be used as a boolean variable; it is true if it contains a value.

Blog system account holders enter their nicknames in the Nick Name text field of the Settings section for their account. If no nickname is entered, their nickname becomes [first name] [last name] where [first name] is the name they provide in the First Name field and [last name] is the name they provide in the Last Name field.

The example below displays the text I'm told that you like to be called followed by the reader's nickname if the reader is logged in:
