Publisher: Trackback Moderation to Limit Spam |
|
Enabling trackback moderation allows publishers to view and approve trackbacks before they are posted on their blog.
You can create or edit blog profiles that limit the moderation features available to your customers. See Blog Profiles.
Notification by email
Publishers will be notified by email of trackbacks in their moderation queue. The email notification is a system message sent to the email address you configured in the blog profile as well as any email addresses that are listed in the Notifications field of the Publisher Control Panel.
Notifications will be sent every half-hour. The email messages will indicate the number of comments in moderation.
Publishers can delete, delete and block, and approve selected trackbacks. Single and multiple trackbacks can be selected for action.
Trackback spam is automatically filtered from being posted
Trackback spam will automatically be prevented from being posted on a blog.
The system performs the following trackback checks:
1 |
Is the trackback URL on the user or global blacklist? |
2 |
Is the trackback source IP address or destination IP address on the user or global blacklist? Source is defined as "where the trackback came from" and destination as "who are they advertising". |
3 |
Were duplicate trackbacks received within the same timeframe? |
4 |
Were multiple trackbacks received from the same IP address across the Blogware system during the same time frame? |
5 |
The content of the trackback excerpt will be checked against the blacklisted URLs list |
6 |
The content of the trackback will be tested against the keyword list to identify potential spam |
Following the system check, all trackbacks automatically identified as spam by the system will not be posted to the blog.
