Creating a New Profile

To create a new profile:

1.In the Reseller Control Panel, click the Blog Profiles tab, then click the New Profile link. The Settings Profile page opens.

2.Use the fields on the Settings Profile page to customize the new profile. See below for details on all of the options.
3.When done specifying settings, click the Save Settings button.

 

 

Settings Profile options

When you create a blog, you can specify a profile, which defines a large number of settings that will applied to that blog. The profile is divided into these sections:

 

Setting name
Paging
Permissions
Excerpts
Comments and Trackbacks
Miscellaneous
Templates
Posting Defaults
Photo Notifications
Article Notifications
Comment Notifications

 

 

 

Setting Name

This defines the name of the profile.

Paging

Paging determines how many articles or days will appear on a given category page.

Permissions

Permissions defines security and privacy settings for the blog.

Excerpts

Excerpts controls the use of excerpts in category pages, trackbacks and email notifications.

Comments and Trackbacks

The Comments and Trackbacks section determines how comments made in response to entries are processed. These options include settings to protect users' blogs from spam.

Nofollow - The nofollow options allow you to specify whether comments and trackbacks are included in the Google search results ranking system.

Moderation - The moderation options allow you to specify whether comments and trackbacks must be approved by the blog owner before they can be posted. Moderation options are:

Never moderate - Comments / trackbacks will not be moderated; they will be posted as soon as they are submitted.

Always moderate - All comments / trackbacks will be moderated; they will not be posted until the blog owner has approved them.

Moderate only if comment / trackback is detected as spam - Comments that have been flagged as spam will not be posted until the blog owner has approved them.

Automatically delete if trackback is detected as spam, moderate all others - Trackbacks that have been identified as spam will be deleted. All other trackbacks will not be posted until you have approved them.

Automatically delete if trackback is detected as spam, do not moderate others - Trackbacks that have been identified as spam will be deleted. All other trackbacks will be posted on your blog as soon as they are submitted.

 

 

Miscellaneous

Miscellaneous controls the way archives are displayed, the type of editor used by authors and syndication.

Templates

Templates determines whether the customer can customize a blog-wide template and per-category templates.

Posting Defaults

Posting Defaults controls the default settings for new blog entries.

Note: The Enable cosmos link option enables or disables the Post Cosmos setting in the Publisher Control Panel. By default, users will not see the Post Cosmos setting unless you enable it here.  If you do not enable this Cosmos option, you can still enable or disable the Post Cosmos setting for an individual blog using the updateBlogSettings API command (see the API documentation).

 

 

Photo Notifications

Photo Notifications controls the notifications that are posted when a new photo is added to a photo gallery.

Article Notifications

Article Notifications controls the notifications that are sent out when a new article is posted.

Comment Notifications

The Comment Notifications section allows you to specify if a notification is sent to the blog owner when new comments are made to a blog entry, and the content of that notification.
