Controlling User Password Management

Previous page  First page  Next page

Resellers who want to use their own password authentication system can prohibit publishers from changing their password in the Publisher Control Panel.  This allows Resellers to control usernames and passwords, ensuring that a user's password and login name are consistent between all of the services (email, for example) provided by that Reseller.

Resellers who prohibit users from changing their password within the Blogware interface can set their users' passwords using an API command.  See the "setUserPassword" command in the Blogware API documentation at http://blog.blogware.com/bpa/.

Note: Email addresses as usernames are now allowed.

To allow or prohibit your users from changing their password in the Blogware Publisher Control Panel:

1. In the Reseller Control Panel, click the Settings tab. The Edit Settings page opens.

2. In the Blogware Passwords section, choose one of the two options to set user password management.
