Changing the Reader-Account Signup Page

Previous page  First page  Next page

When new readers click the Subscribe link on an existing blog, by default they are taken to the Blogware-branded reader-account signup page. However, you can choose to have them land on your branded signup page instead.

To have new readers land on your branded signup page, follow the procedure described next.

Step 1: Create a CNAME that points to the signup page

To have your signup area be available at your URL, you need to change the CNAME of your URL to point to the signup page "www.blogware.com". The actual sign-up page remains on the blogware.com domain.

For more information on CNAMEs, see Creating a CNAME in the Specifying Your Admin URL topic.

Step 2: Update the appearance of your sign-up page

To have your signup area look like your brand, click the Look & Feel tab, then enter your custom CSS in the Override Styles (CSS) text area.

Step 3: Add that CNAME to your Reseller settings

Once you've created a CNAME, you must add that CNAME to your Reseller settings.

1.Click the Settings tab. The Edit Settings page opens.
2.In the Administration Settings section, enter your URL with the following subdirectories "/users/index.cgi/cmd=signup" (e.g., http://www.yourdomain.com/users/index.cgi/cmd=signup) in the Reader-account signup page URL field.
3.Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

Now when users go to sign up for a reader account, they see your look and feel.
