Branding Rules for the Password Reminder Email

Previous page  First page  Next page

When a user forgets their password, they can supply their username, hostname, or email address, and Blogware will automatically send them an email message with their password. Using the provided username, hostname, or email address, the system will determine if that user has a blog, identify their Reseller, and send an email message to that user with their password. The email that is sent will be either the Reseller's branded message, or the Blogware branded message.  Branding depends on the following conditions.

Scenario 1

user does not have their own blog (just a Blogware user)
user requests their password from www.blogware.com/admin or www.blogware.com/users or the Reseller branded page

-> User will receive the Blogware branded email.

Scenario 2

user has one or more blogs with the same Reseller
user requests their password from www.blogware.com/admin or www.blogware.com/users or their Reseller's branded sign-in page

-> User will receive the Reseller branded email if that Reseller has specified an alias. If the Reseller has not specified an alias, the user will receive the Blogware branded email.

Scenario 3

user has two or more blogs with multiple Resellers
user requests their password from www.blogware.com/admin or www.blogware.com/users or their Reseller's branded sign-in page

-> Blogware will randomly select one blog associated with that user and check to see if that blog's Reseller has specified an alias. If an alias is specified, the user will receive the Reseller's branded email. If an alias is not specified, the user will receive the Blogware branded email.
