From the "RVW Specification"
Many people publish reviews on their own websites, but it is currently difficult to take all these opinions into account when making a decision. Individual reviews may have their own rating scheme, may lack a definite description of the subject of the review, and may be of books, music, films, restaurants, beaches, politicians, or any other subject. As online product reviews become increasingly widespread, it becomes more important to make these critical opinions easily accessible on demand.
The inclusion of RVW metadata in RSS feeds where appropriate will enable the building of aggregators that can collate reviews in particular topic areas, aggregate rating scores, and summarise the opinions of a huge number of contributors, with the aim of providing informed analysis to those who need it.
Blogware's Review function is pretty easy to use. Simply log into your Dashboard and select the type of review that you want to make from the "Post" drop down menu in the quicklinks bar in the top right corner of your Dashboard. You can enter reviews into any category you have in your blog except photoalbums. We currently support movie, book and music reviews - more will be added when we work through some more of the details.
Further, you now have a separate review feed that will predictably live at http://www.yourblogname.tld/reviews.xml - these will evolve as the standard matures. All of the other entry specific features such as access controls, trackbacks, comments and outbound ping/email notifications are enabled with reviews as well and work exactly as they do for regular text or photo entries.
